The book of the dream visions of Enoch.

Introduction.

The chronological source of the book of Enoch from when it was first penned has been in dispute since its discovery in the Dead Sea scrolls in 1946 and its later translation into English. Because of the accuracy of these prophecies modern scholars agree that this book was written between the Maccabeun period of 167 – 63 BC. I strongly disagree with them. They also date the book of Daniel in this period as well again because of the accuracy of the prophecies in the dreams revealed between its pages. Although I respect their work very much. If it wasn't for R.H.Charles of oxford university press England for example, we would not have an English translation of the book of Enoch. Enoch was the seventh from Adam according to Jude 1:14 and if taken literally, that Enoch wrote these books, then the true date of when they were penned would have been five thousand five hundred years ago approximately one thousand years before the flood of Noah. I have written this commentary in an attempt to collaborate scripture with the book of Enoch. The comparison I present with the scriptures I am sure is enough evidence of the authentication of the book of Enoch; however it’s down to the reader to make up their own mind.

The book of Enoch we have today is an accumulation of five books all written by Enoch the seventh from Adam as follows:

The Book of the Watchers (Enoch 1 – 36)

The Book of Parables of Enoch (Enoch 37 – 71)

Book of the Heavenly Luminaries (Enoch 72 – 82)

The Book of Dream Visions (Enoch 83 – 90) of which this commentary is based on.

The Epistle of Enoch ( Enoch 91 – 108)

Personal note to the reader:

The best thing is to open the book of Enoch to these chapters and read them side by side and test what I've written. I chose these chapters because to my knowledge no one has attempted to interpret them. Chapter 89 verses 59 to 77 and the whole of chapter 90 cover the "church" age of 2000 years. The time line I've drawn of chapter 93 Click here to view is like the whole picture and the previous chapters are the detail if you look carefully. Chapter 92 is prophetic of messiah.

My calendar commentaries are even more intense and very controversial. However I simply followed the text of the book of Enoch chapters 72 to 82 and let the text speak for itself not my own vain imaginations or pre conceived ideas instilled from a western mentality on how the txt should be interpreted.   Click here for diagram.

7000 years of the history of the Word.

In Chapter 83 of the book of Enoch, Enoch receives a dream that the earth is going to be destroyed by a flood Gen 6:13. Chapter 84 is Enoch’s prayer of intercession that God would leave a remnant on the earth and save them from the coming destruction. Chapter 85 onwards is what I want to focus on.

Chapter 85

Here God/El starts to reveal the history of the world from the creation of Adam and Eve, their fall right up to the new heaven and new earth in perfect chronological order. I will attempt here to interpret the analogy of the animals and what they represent from the birds of the air to the beasts of the field clean and unclean.

First is mentioned a white bull and a heifer Adam and Eve. Gen 2:7/Gen 2:21. There are two bulls one black/Cain and the other red/Abel. Cain being the first born which matches Genesis 4:1. In verse 4 the black bull gored the red one, slew it/killed Abel: Gen 4:8.  Verse 5; the heifer/Eve went with the black bull/Cain and many Oxen proceeded from him; the oxen being the descendants of Cain Gen 4:17-26. Verse 6 now calls the heifer/eve a cow and she leaves Cain the black bull in pursuit of the red bull Abel but can’t find him and laments/cries on not being able to find Abel. Verse 7 the first bull/Adam no longer white, comforts the cow/ Eve and her grief for the loss/death of her son is abased. Then Eve gives birth to another White bull/Seth from Adam and after that she bares many more bulls and black cows males and females... Verses 9 and 10 are the descendants of Seth.

Verse five seems to contradict the book of Genesis and Enoch chapter six. Or does it? Let’s take a closer look at the text then compare this with the book of Genesis. Verse four agrees with the book of Genesis but verse five states this:  The heifer/Eve went with the black bull/Cain and many Oxen proceeded from him. Eve went with Cain and his descendants came from Eve. This would explain a lot of unanswered questions in the genealogies of Cain and their origins. Eve may have boar Cain a female and when she was of age Cain took her for his wife. This may explain the origins of Cain’s wife: And Cain knew his wife Gen 4:17. That’s been a mystery for a long time. Note:  And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. Gen 5:5...According to the text man kind lived a lot longer than three score and ten before the flood so a generation lived more than seventy years.

Chapter 86

Verse one is the fall of Lucifer/Satan symbolised as a fallen star. It strikes the earth and rises up to go to the descendants of Cain the Oxen. This seems to contradict the book of Genesis and Enoch chapter six once again. Or does it? Let’s take a closer look at the text once again then compare this with the book of Genesis. One thing to note is the timing of this event of the fallen star/Satan cast out of Heaven. This according to the text occurs in the days of Cain. Again is this a contradiction against the book of Genesis? Once again let’s take a closer look. Verse two says that the black oxen/descendants of Cain were rounded up by this star that fell and changed their pasture and stalls. Pasture is the food or teaching they received and stalls their inhabitants/homes. Cities for the first time appeared with walls around them with Satan in the flesh ruling the descendants of Cain. Satan as a false god on the earth. Verse three we see the descent of the Watchers as in chapter 6 of the book of Enoch and Gen 6:1-4. And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God (Angels/Watchers/stars) saw the daughters of men/Cain that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants/nephilim in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The stars/Watchers became bulls/men and taught the cattle/cows and oxen/descendants of Cain the secrets of heaven and entered/sexual relations with the daughters of men/cows of the oxen as mentioned in Enoch 8:1-3. The elephants, camels and asses are the offspring of the fallen watchers, the nephilim giants of old men of renown found in modern day Greek and Latin mythology.

Chapter 87.

Vision of the The flood.

In verse two Enoch seems to be on the earth as he now looks up to heaven and he sees seven arch angels descend from heaven four in front and three behind them. One of the three behind them takes Enoch by the hand and raises him up with them into the heavens Gen 5:24. Enoch is raised up unto a high place and sees a tower raised high above the earth. Not in the earth but above it. One of the three angels that took Enoch instructs him to remain in this place until the destruction of the Nephilim the elephants, camels and asses, the watchers the stars that fell/ Jude 6 and the oxen the male descendants of Cain.

Chapter 88.

One of the first four angels that descended with the seven seized the first star that had fallen/Satan and cast him into the abyss. Then another angel of the seven put it into the hearts of the nephilim elephants. Camels and asses to turn against one another and to kill one another by the sword. Then one of the first four angels caused meteors to come down from heaven and stoned the flesh of the nephilim then the angel cast’s their spirits down to the abyss with the first star that had fallen/angel/watcher that had transgressed the command of the Lord of Spirits first and the watchers.

Chapter 89

One of the first four angels went to the white bull/Noah and instructed him of what was to come upon the earth and Noah built the ark under the instructions of one of the four first angels. The three bulls are Noah’s sons Shem Ham and Japheth Gen 6:14-22. The enclosure in verse two is the earth and the lofty roof was the canopy of water above the earth which our satellites now orbit at approximately 35’000 feet above the circle of the equator Gen 1:6-7. What Enoch sees here is the canopy of water being released onto the earth in the form of a flood/rain fall. Before the flood a mist watered the earth Gen 2:6. In verse two the seven torrents or funnels/holes were where he saw the windows of heaven from above open up and Eden divided into seven continents during the flood as the water from below burst forth. Verse two is the water from beneath the earth rising up. Verse 4.5,6,7 and 8 explain the destruction of the cattle elephants, camels, and asses/Nephilim giants. Verse 7 explains when mankind and the fallen offspring were destroyed abysses opened up and swallowed the water leaving the earth dry and the ark settled on the earth and the clouds cleared and the sun shone Genesis chapter 8. In verse- 9 the abysses that opened up and swallowed the water and vegetation and flesh may be the oil and gas pockets of today under the earth’s surface.

Noah and his sons depart from the ark

The white Bull is Noah, white bull/Shem red bull/Japheth and the black bull/Ham. At the end of verse 9 Noah is taken from them/dies and the beginning of verse 10  Shem  Ham and  Japheth begin  to repopulate  the earth    with the wives they took pre flood. A new kind came forth from these sons. Lions, Tigers, wolves, dogs, hyenas, wild boars, foxes, squirrels, swine, falcons, vultures, kites, eagles and ravens but amongst them was born a white bull from the line of Shem/Abram Gen 11:26. In Verse 11 a wild ass/Ishmael is born and a white bull/Isaac Gen 16:16. Note Ishmael is depicted as a wild ass. Pre flood these asses were the off spring of the watchers/Nephilim so here there seems to be another outbreak of these giants and they multiplied at the end of the verse. Verse 12 explains the birth of Esau/black wild boar and Jacob/white sheep. The descendants of Esau grew and Jacob has twelve sheep/the twelve tribes/sons of Jacob/Israel Gen.25:24-35:18.

Joseph is sold into slavery.

Verse 13 one of the sheep was given up to the wild asses/Ishmaelites. We know through scripture that Joseph was found in the pit by Midianites here depicted as wild asses/descendants of Ishmael. Wolves are depicted as the Egyptians. Wild boars the descendants of Esau. Verses 13 and 14 depict Joseph being sold into slavery to the Egyptians by the Ishmaelites/wild asses Gen.37:28-36. The eleven sons living with Joseph in Egypt and multiplying in population with their father Jacob and their wives and concubines and hand maidens..  Verse 15 the Egyptians under another Pharaoh who knew not Joseph   Exodus 1:8-16 began to fear the Israelites. As written in the book of Exodus Pharaoh commands the midwives that if a male is born to the Hebrews then it shall be put to death to control the populous of the Hebrews/children of Jacob/Israel depicted as sheep and while bulls and cows/heifers. We see in verse 14 that the male first born of the sheep were drowned however Moses was let go in the basket and the descendants of the wild asses/Ishmaelties found him and took him in. Verse 16 the sheep that escaped from the wolves is Moses who then fled to the wild asses/descendants of Ishmael Exodus.2:15. The end of verse 16 or part of Enoch’s dream prophesies that the Lord of the sheep/Yeshua came down and pastured them and he called Moses in the burning bush verse 17 and instructs him to go to the wolves/Egyptians and warn Pharaoh not to touch the sheep/children of Israel/Jacob... Verse 18 Moses goes with Aaron to the wolves/Egyptian leaders and warn them not to touch/harm the sheep. .   The wolves in verses 19 and 20 speaks of the wolves arm tightening up over the sheep and smiting them in hard labour of brick and stone of fruit and harvest/slavery. The lamentations may be a reference to the seven plagues and the death of the first born as the last which quietened the wolves/Egyptians.

The Exodus and the crossing of the red sea.

Verse 21 these eyes of the wolves/Egyptians were blinded and the sheep/children of Israel managed to escape with Moses leading them under the power and anointing the rubbing in of the olive oil/anointing oil into the skin symbolic of the Holy Spirit being poured out into Moses through Yeshua hence the change in the appearance of Moses face.. Verse 22 the Lord of the sheep Yeshua went with them as their leader and all His sheep followed Him. Until they came to a sea of water. Exodus 14:21-22. The lord of the sheep Yeshua parted the red sea over night and the children of Israel walked through. Verse 25 the wolves follow not seeing them because of the distance and the curve of the sea. Verse 26 they see the Lord of the sheep first and turned to run from His face in fear and the waters swelled and drowned the wolves/Egyptians under Pharaoh.

The wilderness experience and Mount Sinai.

Verse 28 is the Lord of the sheep/Yeshua teaching the sheep through Moses and what Yeshua had taught Moses right from the burning bush. The eyes of the sheep’s understanding were opened   through the good pasture/teaching they received from above and they began to see. Then that sheep; Moses is called up to Mount Sinai, Exodus 19:1-25. The following verses explain the apostasy of the children of Israel and the golden calf, Exodus 32:8. Verse 36 Moses builds the tabernacle in the wilderness the house for the sheep.  Verse 37 Aaron who met the first sheep Moses dies and Eleazer takes Aarons place Numbers 20:28. Slowly one generation passes and young ones the next generation of Israelites are born. Verses 38 Moses dies/fell asleep. Verse 39 Joshua and Caleb lead the children of Israel across the Jordan River the great stream and into the Promised/pleasant Land. Verse 41 Samuel is raised to judge Israel for their blind times until finally they ask for a king to rule them as the dogs, foxes, and wild boars had a wall to protect them and kings , so did they.

The reigns of King Saul and King David to Solomon.

God/El raises a Ram symbolic of a king. King Saul. Saul destroys the nephilim tribes but becomes proud and turns on his own people. God/El removes Saul and replaces him with another ram/King David. The dogs/nephilim tribes and gentile nations still oppress the sheep. Saul is killed by the dogs in verse 47 and David takes the throne of Israel verse 48 2Sam 2:4. Verse 49 is the time after David killed goliath and the giants/nephilim tribes and the gentile nations began to fear the Israelites and left them alone. David dies and King Solomon takes his place. Verse 50 Solomon builds the temple and dedicates it to the Lord of the sheep, Yeshua.  Verse 51 God/El raises prophets from amongst the sheep to correct them but the sheep slay them. Verse 52 Elijah is caught up to be with Enoch and caused him to dwell there with him, 2Kings chapter 2.  Verse 53 God/El sends more prophets to warn Israel of their backslidings but instead of the children of Israel/Jacob taking heed to the warnings they kill them.

The post captivity period.

Verses 54 to 57 cover the restoration of the remnant from the Babylonian and Assyrian captivities found in the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggi, Zechariah and the book of Malachi. The return of the remnant to Jerusalem, the re-building of the temple and repairing of the walls of the city, and the restoration of the temple worship, the four hundred years between Malachi to the gospel of Mathew. The Old Testament ended under Persian rule then Greece and then Rome. This time is also known as the revolt of the Maccabees.  The Maccabees founded the Hasmonean royal dynasty and established Jewish independence in the Land of Israel for about one hundred years, from 164 BC to 63 BC. Verse 55 God/El gives the sheep over into the hands of the gentiles the lions, tigers, wolves, hyenas, Foxes and the wild beasts/ the Roman Empire and they began to tear the sheep apart and devour them in A.D.70. Verse 57 Enoch intercedes for the sheep because they are being slaughtered but verse 58 God/El remains unmoved and in fact rejoices in that fact that the sheep are being devoured/swallowed and robbed by the hand of the beasts because the sheep erred and went their own ways and forsook the house of the lord and it’s tower after the walls of the city and temple had been restored.. It seams here that even though God/El is omnipresent and omniscient and omnipotent He will not interfere with the hearts and the free will of Man doing anything against His will. God/El has predestined the earth to destruction but He removes His remnant on the earth who have chosen during their lifetimes to bow the knee to Him in full adoration and worship in spirit and in truth having been born again from above from the sowing of their bodies and fleshly desires as living sacrifices unto Him that through the cutting of the covenant we died to self as we confess with our mouths that Jesus/Yeshua is Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit. The remainder of chapter 89 therefore from the accuracy of the above txt in Enoch concerning the past depicts the very time we are living in now from A.D 70 to just before the great tribulation.

Personal note to reader: After a great deal of prayer I felt moved by the Holy Spirit to read Proverbs chapter 1:22-33 concerning verse 58 which troubled me greatly concerning God’s character and Him laughing at our calamity.

Proverbs chapter 1:22-33

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at naught all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

After reading Proverbs chapter 1:22-33 Enoch chapter 89:58 made a lot more sense as to why God did not listen to His peoples cry.
